Wreaths Across America Fredericksburg

Come out and support our local veterans at the Oak Hill location for Wreaths Across America

Each year, Wreaths Across America Fredericksburg joins communities across the United States in honoring the brave men and women who served our nation. Wreaths Across America ceremonies take place at approximately 5,600 participating locations nationwide, bringing families, volunteers, veterans, community organizations, and supporters together for one important purpose: to Remember, Honor and Teach.

Here in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the annual ceremony takes place at Oak Hill Cemetery, located at 1902 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA. Oak Hill Cemetery is once again honored to participate in this meaningful national tradition and pay tribute to the more than 1,000 veterans laid to rest at this local cemetery.

Each wreath is $17.00

Remembering Our Fallen Veterans

The purpose of Wreaths Across America Fredericksburg goes far beyond placing a wreath on a gravesite. Each wreath represents the life, service and sacrifice of an American veteran.

As volunteers place wreaths on the graves of those who served, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember each veteran by name. Their service helped protect the freedoms we enjoy today, and their dedication to our country deserves to be remembered for generations to come.

With more than 1,000 veterans laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery, this annual ceremony provides our community with an opportunity to come together and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Remember Their Names

Every headstone represents a person with a story, a family and a commitment to serving our country. Saying a veteran’s name while placing a wreath is a simple but powerful way to preserve their memory

Teach the Next Generation

One of the most important parts of Wreaths Across America is teaching younger generations about the value of service and sacrifice. Showing younger generations the importance of remembering our veterans helps ensure their stories and sacrifices continue to be honored well into the future.

A Free Community Event in Fredericksburg

The Wreaths Across America Fredericksburg ceremony is completely free and open to the public.

You do not need to have a family member buried at Oak Hill Cemetery or have a military connection to participate. Everyone is welcome.

Whether you are a veteran, military family member, first responder, local resident, student, community organization or simply someone who wants to show appreciation for those who served, we encourage you to attend.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your children and grandchildren. Together, we can create a meaningful experience while remembering those who dedicated a portion of their lives—or made the ultimate sacrifice—in service to our country.
